For those of you who didn’t see or don’t remember back in April or may I purchased my first ever constellation. A full set dogleg from the original owner on a peanut bracelet.

It was amazing. I still havent gotten it back from service yet but think about it all the time. I will never need another constellation ever again in my life. Well, at least that’s what I told my wife. 😀

Yesterday evening I got these two in:

A 14381 arrow head and what I believe to be a 2852. The dogleg full set I found with @janice&fred old fashioned boots on the ground method but these two came from the new world online Avenue where believe it or not I was able to get a good price on.

more pictures to show off these 2 beauties:

Both appear to be great acquisitions. The 2852 seemingly untouched and the 14381 with uncommon arrow head configuration. As fate would have it, I have a dear friend and mentor @gbesq who I know was seeking a lyre lug arrow head steel on steel example so I offered it to him immediately. He happily obliged. What happened next ? Well we decided that I should hand deliver the watch as it would have been done in the old days like the time when these vintage watches were born

You can see the watch roll on the table. We talked for hours. About watches, each others backgrounds, significant others, religion, life, and everything in between. A fantastic night between 2 great friends made in part by this very forum so I thank you.

Oh and here is the obligatory wrist shot of the 14381 arrowhead on the wrist of its new and happy owner

have a great night OF family.

You’ve come a long way in a short time, Niko. You have jumped head first into the hobby, have developed a razor sharp eye and encyclopedic knowledge of vintage watches. You have attentively learned from the pitfalls many of us have endured and taken the insights in how to develop the skills of the hunt, cultivating relationships and creating bonds with fellow collectors. You share your bounty with others and don’t screw them over for a profit- you love to see others happy.

You have reminded me that there are good people in this world, and this hobby- that there is hope for the next generation of watch collectors; they aren’t all just ista-web label snobs looking to score and flex.

Good on ‘ya.

My sentiments exactly. Well said. And below is a photo of the newest addition to my collection. Needs a correct steel decagonal crown (anybody have one for sale?). but it’s a stunner.

I think the @TheGreekPhysique was hit by a lightening bolt by the watch gods cause he went next level mighty quick. I’m still trying to figure out how to get the back off my chairman Mao watch.

(I actually do have a chairman Mao watch I bought on the streets of China but I don’t think it worked more than 10hrs)

My dad has a Mao watch, the arm waves when it runs. Quite loud, sounds like a pin lever. Dad also got a fake rolex, which he prefers to the constellation I gave him. The watches were full of lint. Once I cleaned out the lint they worked pretty well. I had to get a used rolex case opener for the fake one as it uses the same type of screw back.

@Walrus and @JwRosenthal thank you guys for the very kind words. Giving that watch to @gbesq and watching his reaction was easily more satisfying than making a couple extra hundred bucks.

@cristos71 thanks! I now have 2 constellations that I can say I am proud of. Slowly but surely getting there.

And an early morning pic of my growing Connie family: new addition 14381 in the middle (thanks, my friend!) flanked by my 14900 on the left and my 168.004 on the right. Vintage Seamasters still dominate my collection, but the Connies are catching up! 😀
