Real or fake Omega watch?

Turn the crown clockwise until it won't turn anymore. It will probably need at least 30 turns, and eventually it will come to a hard stop. Don't try to force it any further. This is a manual winding mechanical watch. You will need to wind it every day.
Done! It looks like it may work. How long can it take to stop again? Which could be the reason to rewind it every day? Is the mechanism loosened? Is it normal on a mechanical watch?
Huge thanks by the way!

Please use google to understand more about how mechanical watches work. The watch needs stored energy to drive the mechanism, it's not a magical perpetual motion machine. The energy is stored in the mainspring when you turn the crown. The watch can probably run for 35-40 hours, but it will generally keep better time if you wind it every 24 hours and don't let the mainspring run down.

OMG! I'm so sorry about that. I thought it was working as an automatic mechanism. I was one day away from sending back the watch. Thanks a lot for the help! There's always something new to learn.

Not sure why you would think it's an automatic. It does not say automatic on the dial and the movement has no rotor.

Thanks again. All info is welcome. I'm getting even more fascinated by mechanical watches!
Hi asenjoalex

That is a stylish and beautiful watch you got. It probably needs a service. If you let us know the area you live, someone may recomend a watchmaker to you. It will cost you about as much as you paid for the watch. You have to decide if it worth it.

You may start by scraping the dirt out of the corners with a toothpic and cleaning it with a damp, not wet cloth. You could also polish the crystal with Polywatch to remove scratches and make the crystal look almost new.

Good luck!
