Real or fake Omega watch?

Hi! I need some help to verify if this watch is real or not. The seller describes it as a De Ville, but obviously the watch says is a Geneve model. The description is very simple without much details apart from the specifications. I was comparing it with other watches and realized that the Omega logo on the case is slightly different to others. Also, I want to make sure if the buckle is original as the seller says.

I'm new on this and don't know much about all the details yet. I'd appreciate a little help to verify its authenticity.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to OF. The number on the case back 1360098 will give you some answers if you google it. Its indeed a Geneve as you said.

Thats all I know I am afraid, but experts will be along soon.

Thanks a lot! It looks like the buckle may be real. Searching for the serial number, I found these two that could look very similar to the one I showed you:

The watch is original
Thanks! Can I ask how you could verify it so I can learn more?
Also, the specification says that the diameter is 38mm. I guess it is a 34mm crystal with a wider case, isn't it?

The watch is 35 mm diameter without the crown , maybe the seller measured it with the crown .

The movement is original , the case is original , the dial looks original , the hands are the correct for this model , the buckle is original , from those photos I cant tell if the crystal is original or not ( if it is original it should have an Omega logo at the middle ) .

you can go through this thread .

this is this watch on the official Omega website

Now that it is real. Do you think 400€ for this watch is worth it?

You hurt my Geneve's feelings, you meany😒
But of course you ment simple in a positive way like; clear, streamlined, minimalist, functional or stylish. 😀

Hi again! I received the watch and the second clock hand is not working well. It stops after a few seconds. After opening the case, I saw that the balance stops gradually. I paid 390€ for the watch and I see that other Omega Geneve watches are more expensive than this one. Do you think I should keep it and repair it, which can cost the same price as I paid, or should I turn it back?

Thanks again!

They will all need service, it’s not broken per se, but just needs that as it probably hasn’t had it for a long time

How much do you think it could cost? I was told about 300-400€, but they weren't sure until they open it.

It's a pretty basic manual wind model so servicing shouldn't be too expensive if you shop around. By the time you have serviced it though you will be into it for maybe €650-750 which is rather too much for what is really an entry level model. If you can return it, you probably should. If you can't, get it working, wear it and put it down to noob tax.
