·Well I guess he is suggesting that it is not done the same way, i.e. the standard of finishing is inferior to previous Speedmaster production (or even current production if you consider the 321)
Is Omega manufacturing all their watches cases or could there be outsourcing across various companies ? Yesterday I was told that Omega had a factory within the Mekong Delta in Vietnam and that Rolex had one in New Mexico This made me wonder

An independent watch manufacturer of my friends who outsources all of the work aside from the design, which he does himself, in Switzerland and Europe with the sapphire crystal sourced from Asia, has told me that the “60% value thing” still allows for a lot of the work to be done in sweat shops across Asia where the Labour is dead cheap. Comparing the Swiss and Vietnamese wages for a comparable job can just show how much of the real work is done on one side vs the other… I would much prefer and have more confidence with a 90-95% in value criteria or another label matching this.

·I've handled three different new 3861 speedmasters: two hesalite and one sapphire.
The edges are sharper than the 321 ed white but not sharp enough to be really noticeable or cause an issue to the wearer.

·Some may notice more easily than others.
Especially when puting the watch on and taking it off.
Some people may even be put off by it for their own personal reasons.
It will never bother me as I would only wear the watch on a strap. Bracelet wearers may be more susceptible to noticing👍

·I fondled a couple of the new 3861 soeedies brand new at my AD and did not find them to be sharp at all. Crisp machining yes, but not burred up or dangerous. Just high quality machining. They will wear in beautifully I imagine my seamaster clasp engraving was so crisp when new that it too felt sharp when I rubbed my fingers on it but it’s since lost a little of that initial sharpness

·Haven’t noticed sharp edges. My Speedy date has sharp edges though, and that’s 10 years old
