heh, this is a great late entry in the Best of 2022 thread contest! It was okay, and then the ambien confession brought it to a much higher level.

My wife used to take ambien and sleepwalk a bit occasionally. Then came the night I heard the front door open. I followed her down the street and down 2 flights of stairs to the beach at the end of our street, she scooped up a handful of sand and walked home back to bed. Next morning she wanted to know why I had dragged sand into the bed. No more ambien for her!
I’ve heard these stories. A friend of mine who is an MD was prescribed during a bought of insomnia and he apparently went on a 2 hour rant in bed with his wife about aliens…he didn’t remember a thing, but his wife recorded it.

I’ve come downstairs in the morning to find empty bags of kettle corn in the living room and debris all over the armchair (I apparently love some crunch when I’m not conscious).

A had a friend at work who was prescribed a one week run to get her internal clock back on track after a month in AU. She mentioned she was taking it to me and I told her about the possible side effects, how if lowers inhibitions and let’s the subconscious mind run rampant- also it’s abused recreationally as a sex drug. She gasped, paused for a second and said “oh, that explains so much!”

I seemed to have missed a rather good nonsense rant.
Does seem though that the 🍿 is better when it is hot. Gets sort of soggy in the bottom, but still tastes pretty good.

I don’t remember how discriminating I am under the influence.

I’ve heard these stories, too, though sometimes they are not so benign: Ambien can also cause a severe depressive reaction in some people—including my wife, who tried it once and ended up in a serious three-day funk.

Honestly,

I’m just grateful my asshole wasn’t sore this morning. Huge win.

So you took a little pill and your instincts were to complain about the lack of a watch complication.

Sir, you are a bona-fide watch geek. Your credentials are impeccable. We should be saluting you.

Jesus...

I took one of wife's Ambiens for the first time ever last night, because I couldn't sleep.

Cool when your wife is your drug dealer…😉

I reckon that all this thread needs is a picture of a cat and it would certainly qualify as a Premium Thread of ‘22 😁

Agree with the OP though, it does seem odd to not have a true GMT in Omega’s lineup.

I vote just pick up a used Seamaster 50th until Omega can figure out how to slim down a gmt again.

Seriously, they could do worse than to just re-issue this model.

Yeah- it’s funny to joke about people eating a stick of butter or going on a blackout nutter on the internet- but it is medication and can have some nasty effects on some. When my wife “borrows” one of mine on a sleepless night, I have to make sure she is asleep within 20 minutes or she starts to go pretty dark during pillow talk - it’s not fun.

I could be wrong, but isn't 2023 the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster? Perhaps we'll see one this upcoming year.

As my USMC dad used to say -- two people "who didn't get enough hugs from mom, and too few ass-kickings on the elementary school playground."

I’ve been saying the same thing for a long time about Omega and their GMT situation. I finally just broke down and bought one of these. GREAT watch. I wish they would make a modern version of this with a ceramic bezel and the newer movement and whatnot.

The watch above is for sale in the private sales section here.
This one is not! Is that what you’re saying?

Have you considered the Aqua Terra Worldtimer? It's not a small watch by any means but it's no planet ocean GMT hockey puck.
