GMT's are the hottest segment out there right now, especially traveler's or true GMT's. Everyone is releasing (or has released) new versions (though not all jumping hours). Oris, B&R, Breitling Chrnomat, BBPRO, BBS&G, Rolex (VTNR), Longines Zulu Time, GS, Norqain, Seiko, Zodiac, Nomos. Yes I know Omega has the "Oreo" PO gmt but the PO is hockey puck thick and is fairly large at 43.5.mm

They are walking so much biz from guys like me. I want a premium every day wearer true GMT from a brand with a little cachet and horological history. I am dying to buy an Omega but they refuse to make me one. I don't want to wear my BLNR as a daily (due to work conditions), I'm not sold on the BBGMT Pepsi because of date issues and it's resemblance to the BLRO. Then Oris, Bremont, B&R and Breitling are all caller off the shelf movements that I cant swallow spending 5k on for a base $200 ETA.

Which leaves me with you Omega! My favorite brand. You and your sis GO need to get your shit together soon, or I'm heading back the the coronet for an EXPII which isn't my first choice.

Just keep it simple..
1, A Tokyo 2020 colorway Seamaster 300M with a red lollypop GMT hand. Blue ceramic bezel with 24 clicks coupled with that wave white dial.,
2. A Heritage Seamaster bronze with a GILT GMT hand with around an aluminum bezel.

These (and more , like the fabulous famous Constellation GMT post of aways back) would sell tremendously and shift business from Tudor. Right now Omega has NOHING to touch the GMT Master II. If they come even close, they have a hit on their hand, I'd be first in line actually.

LETS GO OMEGA...EVERYONE IS SCRAMING FOR IT....Give us a kick butt GMT MASTER II COMPETITOR,

Sorry if this doesn't make sense completely, I'm pretty drunk.

Am I alone in thinking we want a nice sport GMT issued soon from our favorite brand???

The best part about this GMT thread is that it’s Monday morning in my part of the world and I take heart from knowing that someone, somewhere in the world is blind drunk!

Agree, Omega need to bring out a competitive, ‘true’ GMT

Wrote about this recently… the Great White GMT and 50th Anniversary are still a great option used but it’s rather frustrating that there is no way to get a modern version of that. I think what they need to do is built it off something like the Seamaster 300 or Seamaster Pro 300M again rather than the Planet Ocean, it feels like an afterthought on a diver that big.

This doesn't address OP's issue, but practically speaking I've found the caliber 8500 in my 38.5mm Aqua Terra to be an excellent work travel companion. Quickly setting to local time when getting off a plane with the jumping hour feature is a breeze.

Yep. I can't stand these cutesy nicknames of mostly Rolex produced fad watches and even worse the abbreviations of that late model stuff which means little to me even when spelled out. Do they charge by the letter to type on the net?

Coke, pepsi, bluesy, kermit, fat lady, batman, and then there's connie, speedy, etc. etc. Spell the fuckin name out for Christ sakes. Does using these silly nicknames and short cuts send a lame signal for an in-the-know watch guy or something?

And for the OP, simply sell that hockey puck of a late model swollen caricature of a Rolex GMT, save up and buy a 4 or 5 digit real thing for travel. If as you say your work negates wearing an expensive watch, then you also hardly have a need for the second time zone feature as well so buy an invicta for when you're swinging on the back of that garbage truck. 😁

Omega might not want to produce anything that resembles the GMT Master too closely, for fear of being called "wannabes" and cheapening their brand image. The Swatch group already has a good GMT watch in the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, which has its own distinct style. No need to ape the GMT Master.

I do like the Seamster 50th Anniversary GMT but unfortunately my wrists are a bit too small. I'm also not keen on buying second hand.

One advantage of that watch is that it doesn't have a 24 click bezel like the GMT Master, thereby allowing you to correctly read GMT even when you're in a timezone that's offset by 30 minutes like Australian Central Standard time. IMHO that makes it even more suitable for an airline pilot.

I agree that all the super hero nicknames are stupid, but BLRO, BLNR, and VTNR are the official reference designations for the different colors of GMT made by Rolex. They aren’t code names for insiders. I see reference numbers used all the time on this site. What should the OP call them?

Either way, just look at the craftsmanship of that rant. For a drunk individual, it looks incredible. I’m not an English major, but I don’t see any errors.
