Have you considered the Aqua Terra Worldtimer? It's not a small watch by any means but it's no planet ocean GMT hockey puck.

I'm too old (50) to read that thing, it's just a blur, I love it though!

TL;DR: Did OP break down and buy a Steinhart GMT?

I need a jumping hour my friend. I've tried some "caller" GMT's with base ETA's and they just didn't cut it. My GS SBGM221, Longines ZT and Rolex GMT II have spoiled me.

Not keeping the ZT though, ordered it day one, took 5 months to get, wore it once. Great watch, but doesn't speak to me.

I don't know why Omega can't create a wearable GMT sport watch. This has long been a gripe for me.

If I had a DeLorean hit could hit 88 mph, I'd skip the Ambien and type these 20 words instead. It's pretty much what I wanted to say and would have saved me an apology to the TRF administrator and a $25 dollar reinstatement fee.

As an aside, although I like Tudor a LOT, I think it's ridiculous that people think the quality is commensurate to Omega. However, Tudor kicks butt at listening to customers and giving them what they want. Black bay 58, the 58 GMT, BB Chrono, new 39 Pelagos, BBPRO 39 GMT etc...

I stand by my drug induced rant that if Omega made a wearable SS sport GMT (preferably in either the Seamster 300 or 300m lines) at around the 6-7K price point, they would sell an absolute ton of them.

This has been interesting to read, haha. Sometimes the first time the question answered just doesn't get what you're looking for.
https://omegaforums.net/threads/po-gmt-black-and-white-question-for-owners.153418/#post-2091687

That thread proves how much I want to talk myself into an Omega. I really like this watch (Oreo), but it is a compromise for me due to size and thickness. I should probably just buy the Tudor 41 (red and blue), but it has had some movement issues and I really prefer ceramic bezels. The best way to insure Omega comes out with a proper sport GMT is to buy the Tudor.. it's the story of my life.

Omega might not want to produce anything that resembles the GMT Master too closely, for fear of being called "wannabes" and cheapening their brand image. The Swatch group already has a good GMT watch in the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, which has its own distinct style. No need to ape the GMT Master.

But there’s no need to make a true GMT that looks or functions like the GMT Master. Lots of interesting GMT complications out there (and a few still not thought of yet).

If anything, that’s what could make Omega an especially interesting watch in the line-up, differentiating it from even the PO.

I’d like to see Omega do a sports watch with its fourth hand on the same 12hr scale together with a local-home/day-night indicator (similar to the PP Aquanaut Travel Time).

I would buy that in a heart beat.

I was just wondering whether the Aqua Terra might make a good platform for this type of complication, at least in terms of styling. However, I think the OP wants a watch with a rotating bezel so that he can keep track of a 3rd time zone.

I think this is worst GMT implementation period.

The PP in particular, or GMTs with 12hr scale/day-night?

any watch with two 12h hands.
I will have to really think about this opinion.
I own a GMT Master and it obviously works, but you still need to read the time off the bezel, so it is a bit less intuitive than a 12 hour hand.
This is at least a key reason why I would NOT consider acquiring a Breitling Cosmonaute. I guess my brain is just too used to the 12 hour dials…

I personally like the VC and PP implementations of their GMT watches.

I empathize with this, as a preference and technical matter

technically, I think any “GMT” function that is not in 24hr format is not a ‘true’ GMT. Afterall, ‘GMT’ stands for Greenwich Mean Time, which is a 24hr convention and measurement. That means someone with a 12hr format “GMT” who actually needs a 24hr convention is being required to perform the conversion in their head to arrive at the necessary figure. Which is analogous to calling a km/H speedometer a mi/H speedometer.

That being said, from an Omega business perspective the proposal was that the PO GMT leaves little differentiation with a second sport “GMT” - and what most people require of a ‘true’ GMT doesn’t include a 24hr format (which for them acts only as a perceived clumsy day/night indicator).

If we’re talking preferences, I’d personally rather Omega issue a true-true-true GMT with a full 24hr dial

Fix the hand length, throw in a 24hr bezel, we're done!

with 24h hand you don't have to think twice - was it am or pm? how many hours difference? just read 24h hand and that's it.

maybe for americans am/pm is easier, but not for me, I always struggle when it comes to 12 or 0 hours. 12 at noon is it am or pm? 12 at night? so no, thanks, 24h hand is what I need.

I agree with this. I love my 24hr GMT, since a lot of my info for work is given in UTC. My sorry brain just sees it better in 24hr time.
