Figured you Seiko nerds might like this group I swapped for yesterday. There’s a bonus accutron. It was actually the watch I wanted. Super clean.

Yeah those top two, and the orange one I know a little about, not sure what they would go for in that condition, but I think Seiko nerds would eat those up.

I have the non-chronograph version of the first two. (same case shape)

The third one is the ref. Bruce Lee wore the last few years of his life. I expect they might become more popular like the Pogues. The last one, more modern, is way big for me but it was part of the deal. I'm excited to get the Accutron and wear it regularly. It's 40mm, which for 1969 was a very large watch. I'm curious if anyone has had any experience attempting to lightly scrape the indices like those on the brown dial watch. They are obviously not attractive. I am wondering if that discoloration is mostly just on the surface or if it goes deeper. I'd consider having it re lumed.

Were it me, I’d have my watchmaker clean and relume, along with a full service.

It was serviced a couple years ago, but I know a guy who could make the indices look great. It will likely go to him soon. The photo isn’t good as the crystal has scratches. The dial is fantastic aside from the lum. Apparently there is some discussion as to whether these brown dials were created brown or degraded to brown from black. Any wisdom? For me, a guy who was an astronaut and Bruce Lee are pretty much equally awesome. Bruce may even get the edge. Only one of him.

Not to be tedious the Seikosha name was dropped in the early 50's. the 7017 is honey of a watch and still underrated

What is the reference of the orange one?
I believe it's a 6106 7107. I've seen it called the "orange monster" and "pumpkin." Apparently, it was the first orange diver Seiko made. I'm just learning most of this myself. I'm also trying to learn about repro parts on these old Seikos. I know many of the dials have been reproduced. I like the "rally diver" ref 6119 7173, blue dial, checked bezel, but I can't tell an original dial from a repro. And I also just saw an ebay watch, true pogue with a dial the seller says is new. I hadn't seen repros of the true pogue dial up to now. Anyone know more on that? It would be nice to have a few threads detailing some of the info on Seiko repro parts and how to ID the problems.
