Evidence? As far as I know, it is well documented.

In all honesty, do you think it makes much sense for Omega to ship out 250 standard issue Moonwatches along with 3*250 extra hands, 250 extra case backs, 250 extra medaillions for the cover of the box, 250 extra medaillions for the inside of the box, and 250 additional red-white-blue NATO straps, only for the dealer to exchange all these parts themselves?

So your evidence is another blog post saying they were made by Omega. Okay.

A batch of 250 pieces was produced last year for the RAID only (and not to the public) for a price of around 3000€. It's kind of a "hommage" by Antoine de Macedo to the french special forces, but also a marketing thing somehow (the Raid is linked to the Police Nationale and not the military forces, contrary to the GIGN) and was presented to the guys as a long-term investment. The raid members are therefore not allowed to sell them during the first year, contractually speaking. The funny hands were "home made" by ADM in Paris, with approval from Omega. I was told they were assembled (at least the specific elements) at ADM.

As LeonDeBayonne mentioned earlier, the project was a bit more ambitious at the start with regards to the look of the watch (strap, telemeter Km bezel and so on ...) but he was not allowed to bring any major changes to the regular model at the end (unfortunately). There was other attempts/projects from watchmakers in France (but not only) to create limited series / hommage versions for special units or groups, with OR without the authorization of the brand itself (Olivine Prestige with the Rolex Submariner GSPR version ...).

Well, I also asked ADM, which is really not that hard to do. They're very kind folks!
Plus there's the fact that the other scenario is so unlikely that -to me- it just doesn't make much sense.

That would have been great information to lead with, which makes me wonder why you didn't.

Can you ask them why one of the Speedmasters appears to be a converted standard Speedmaster?

I'm sorry, but I will not keep this dragging on. If this is so important to you, please feel free to contact their staff yourself.

The seller can be happy if it sells for 30% of that price. This watch has no historical relevance and has never been worn by military.

Fully agree... He should accept very quickly the proposals from "américains" he already received at this level (as he says in the ad).
Quickly before these "américains" read this thread...

To my eyes, that's an ugly watch.
Someone comes up with a bad idea and then they try to sell at an inflated price.

Having been there twice to visit this french police special unit. I can tell you they are wearing gshock. The Raid unit had allready have a dedicated watch made by Bernard Richard Manufacture, BRM. It must be an habit for them to have partnership with watch dealers or makers. I think the goal is to offer the possibility
for the police officer to make money easily .

The ad says the watch is mythical, yet its assembly by Omega is unequivocal.

I find these statements to be incompatible.

It's a cool watch for someone who is French. It looks like it could be highly collectible.

Hi all !
i’ve one of this Raid speed edition. I can tell you that this model is well made by Omega with a ref different from the standard speed (311.30.42.30.01.007).
So, not a simple speed with modification.

A different number, a different caseback and coloured hands. Is anything else different? No.

Couldn’t that same case be made against a lot of Speedmaster Limited Editions?
