Opinions may differ but IMHO Mac’s one looks like a 80 years old watch and yours don’t. Sorry

Fair, no apologies needed. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. We’ll agree to disagree.

The print all looks too thick and unrefined for an original dial. Perhaps some more hi res photos will help but I still think it’s been refinished.

2 pics from AJTT (unfortunately this era is redial galore in AJTT).

White one is redial IMHO.

Thank you for posting this! Much appreciated. Unrelated, but in your opinion is AJTT a good reference book for vintage Omega collecting? I was pondering about buying this book, and the “10 UG watches”, as I’ve a couple of UGs.

Now that’s a fair, argumented observation. The numerals do strike me as a bit heavier than other examples published by other Omega forum members.

I have to look at more examples from the same period to make my mind up.

If this were a redial, it would have to be a bloody good one.

If it's not lume, it just looks off to me. I've never seen Omega script get that lumpy, and stay perfectly white. For them to have gotten the mixture just right, to have white pigment survive this long, is not impossible, but you can see on the other example how little sections have yellowed a bit. And the OMEGA text somehow seems too thin and sterile, like a lot of modern ones.

However, again, I'm not an expert, and I can imagine some scenario where it degrades inside a vault or forgotten drawer, never sees any UV, and maybe that could explain it. But since I've never seen it happen that way, I'd think redial. I might be wrong too!

I think it's such a nice redial, if it's a redial, that I'd really enjoy it as is. When it's this hard to find a reason to call it a redial, it should just be enjoyed.

It is indeed a good reference book but it is a general book so don't expect many details

Once I see those fake buckles, I assume everything is a lie / deception about the item/seller

This I will admit I am no expert, I thought it might be aftermarket, but if you say it’s fake? The etchings were unusual to me, so you must be right.

Listen for the rest, yes crown is a replacement, other than that whether its a redial or not (which I still don’t believe it is), the rest of the watch seems correct to me.

I understand your point about the red flag, I am happy to be educated on that.

It is what I hear, and a hefty price too. Surely as you say a good reference book.

The fact that you wrote in your sales post that the watch has an “original dial” after multiple people in this thread have told you it has a redial speaks volumes about your ethics.

I would not call the buckle “aftermarket” either. That implies that it was sold by Omega. The buckle is a fake, made in Asia.

Those facts should be disclosed in any future listings.

Well, I did, evidently, minutes before you posted this message.

I do not appreciate the tone being used, or the comment about the ethics, but that is a whole other conversation.

I will thank you nonetheless for your insight about the buckle.
