Question for the clock people (Omega Advertising?)

I'm looking for opinions on what I should do with the glass I stumbled on a few days ago:

It's seen better days, but it's really only the big missing paint at 9 o-clock that's a real eye sore.

Sorry for the mixed units of measurements...
Measures: 15 inches by 15 inches
6 inches from center to the start of the hour markers
12mm diameter for the movement stem to fit through
12.5mm depth including the rubber circle

Current plan:
- Have a piece of 15x15inch plexiglass cut to sit behind the glass (protect the paint and have something to mount a movement to)
- Buy a thin black metal frame 15x15inch to mount the outer glass to
- Color match the off white paint, attempt to paint a piece of plexiglass and seat it behind the missing paint at 9 o'clock - I won't paint the actual glass to avoid screwing it up worse then it is now.
-- If I fail miserably may try and find a properly sized Omega/Seamaster sticker or something to put over the gap at 9 (last ditch effort)
- Purchase a quartz movement w/ sweep second hand (and no sound because clocks that tick loudly start to drive me a little nuts)

---

My questions:
- Has anyone seen one of these and know what it might have come with? I've only seen these online but admit I don't know where to look for omega clock information other than google and these forums, the site below (worthpoint?) seems to want to charge me $30 a month to see old Ebay auction prices, none of them have photos of the movement.

- What style hour/minute/second hands would you recommend? I'm leaning toward something similar to the hands in the top right image above but I'm open to anything really, trying to figure out what will look good.
- Is there a good clock parts site that I should look at? I've really just looked at Amazon, $10 for a quartz movement with some hands that might be just "okay"

Full disclosure, I paid $7.50 for this so it could be advertising for something other than Omega watches (or something 'fake') and I wouldn't care. It's condition/overall look/value isn't a huge concern (of course if someone wants to give me a Speedmaster for it I'm all ears 馃槈 ). But seriously, I think it's cool and I'm gonna use it as a clock. I'm going to put it on the wall behind my desk. On the off chance someone I have a conference call with is a watch person it'll be a nice non-work conversation starter.

Thanks in advance!

Mine originally had a 120VAC electric motor and a circular fluoro tube.
I replaced the motor with a silent sweep quartz motor (Seiko or Takane) and modified the original hands to suit the movement.

You could use a set of hands of the approximately the same style as the originals.

Examples from where I got my parts (in Australia) but you can find plenty of clock suppliers in the US.

You will need to have a timber frame for it at least deep enough to accomodate the movement and to give you something to hang it from.
Mine is a bit of an overkill but it's all I had on hand at the time.

Some pics.

@JimInOz love it, thanks! Super helpful, gets me started down the right path!

Did the domed glass front come with it, sounds like yours was mostly in tact? I want to try and see if the glass places in my area can get me something similar

What is painted on the front, and what is painted on the back? If half and half, then just re-do one side.

Everything is on the back. If the 9 o鈥檆lock spot was spider webbed like at 4 I鈥檇 it just leave it.

Get an acrylic place to cut a sheet of white 3/16" acrylic and drill a hole in the centre to mach the existing and use it as backing.

Any picture framing shop should be able to do a frame and glass to suit. Domed glass will be a cost overkill and a flat glass would be just fine.
