@ulackfocus I knew I couldn't be the only one

Not by far. I even match the buckle's metal color and leather color / pattern on my belt to the metal color and leather color / pattern of my watch. Naturally, the shoes gotta match too!

Here's a nice color & texture match in brown that's on my 1961 Piaget caliber 9P:

white gold ring matches steel quite nicely. no gold watches in the box, so no problem.

@ulackfocus has a collection of rings to match his watches - pretty cool actually.

my wife would kill me if I tried to inject 'unofficial' rings into rotation, so one more reason to stick with steel (or white gold!) watches only.
My wife was the reason for the "unofficial" ring. I left my wedding band beside the sink one night and it went missing. We searched high and low and when she saw I was so upset she bought me a stainless ring as a temporary replacement until we could get another band made. It turns out she had divested herself of her costume jewelry in the same spot as my ring and scooped the whole lot into a bag. We found it a month later but by then the stainless ring had become "official"

I gave my wife a family heirloom engagement ring in platinum, so we bought platinum wedding bands for consistency. The same day we ordered those, she bought me a stainless steel Rolex Submariner as a wedding gift from the same jeweler ... and all my other watches are stainless as well. Problem solved!

I stopped wearing a ring a couple of years after getting hitched. What the wife doesn't know (and I hope to God she never reads this) is that I cashed it in to help fund the purchase of my Planet Ocean Limited Edition Liquid Metal.
For real, that's some serious commitment to the addiction. Were credit cards or payday loans not an option? I'm against those things but I could justify them to the Mrs. more easily than trading my wedding ring!

Was not any watch but the POLE. She can't argue with that one.

I try and match also. Same ol' gold band, just change up the shoes.

Orange contrasts.

Matching patina

Blue x2

Anything matches with an Ed White

Ok, here's a new topic for discussion. How many of you married WISs keep a gold wedding band and another stainless steel backup ring so that your watch of the day always matches your ring? Am I the only one?

I don't consider my wedding ring to be a fashion accessory, so I just wear the one I was given, even if it doesn't match anything else I'm wearing.

Cheers, Al

Funny you should ask....

Platinum being made....😉
Hedged my bets with a Jess James Prayer ring in yellow gold with a platinum center band to retain the moving center "prayer" pieces. They are not made anymore, so I guess that's another vintage item to add to the collection.

Stainless ring........ surely not. Get a platinum one.
I'm not married yet but I couldn't agree more. I'd consider white gold (non plated palladium alloy like modern Rolex white gold) or solid palladium too.

The ring is platinum outers with titanium centre.

No yellow gold or rose gold jewlery of any kind in the house, for either of us, so no problem with stainless or titanium watches and the black ones just match everything

Still married, but haven't worn my wedding band for over 30 years. Just celebrated our 50th anniversary.

The One Ring. Purchased 30 years ago at a JC Penny in Center City Philly. Goes with everything. It's a miracle I've not lost it. Looks fine with my Rose and yellow gold watches. Don't care if I get a fashion citation.
