Ok, here's a new topic for discussion. How many of you married WISs keep a gold wedding band and another stainless steel backup ring so that your watch of the day always matches your ring? Am I the only one?

    Not relevant to me.

I stopped wearing rings 10 seconds after seeing my first safety movie when doing my early naval training and haven't worn one since.

    (Google "de-gloved")

I almost stopped wearing watches when I slipped on an aircraft ladder and the bracelet of my Sub caught on the canopy latch and left me hanging by my wrist.

But I got over that totally irrational attitude very quickly :D

I think you have a problem, you are taking things a bit far, what are you going to do if you buy a DSOM or a two tone watch?:)

Um... I have a steel and gold watch. I don't want to admit it but I also have a steel and gold ring as well so I guess I'm REALLY anal.

    Same as me.

And of course, if you were being really anal, you'd need a rose gold ring also.

I stopped wearing a ring a couple of years after getting hitched. What the wife doesn't know (and I hope to God she never reads this) is that I cashed it in to help fund the purchase of my Planet Ocean Limited Edition Liquid Metal.

If I was you I'd find the scariest most sickening terribly frightening thing on the interwebs and show it to her in the vain hope that it scares her witless about internets and she never goes near a website again.

    Start with Facebook.

white gold ring matches steel quite nicely. no gold watches in the box, so no problem.

@ulackfocus has a collection of rings to match his watches - pretty cool actually.

my wife would kill me if I tried to inject 'unofficial' rings into rotation, so one more reason to stick with steel (or white gold!) watches only.

For those with yellow gold bands, the (rather expensive, but spouse-acceptable) solution to this is to propose a mutual "upgrade" at an anniversary occasion. I promise if you buy her a new platinum anniversary upgrade set, she'll overlook you needing a platinum band to match your steel and white gold watches....

Actually, until about ten days ago, I hadn't worn my YELLOW gold wedding band for about 35 years. I wear rings, all the time! Diamond rings! Yellow gold diamond rings. But since April 16 (2016) was our 50th wedding anniversary, I decided to shelve the diamonds, and wear my wedding band, for the occasion. (She knew where it was, but I didn't)! To show you how understanding my wife is, I spent our anniversary day at a model train show, exhibiting 100-plus railroad grade and railroad approved pocket (and wrist) watches! I have yellow gold, white gold, and steel watches, but only yellow gold rings. Our actual 50th wedding anniversary party is this Saturday night. 40 friends and family!
