Question About hands originality

Hi all,
This is my first post! and here you can see my first omega watch.
It's 565 movement and it keeps time very well.

The case reports ref 166.070 and I'd like to ask all the experts here opinions about hands.
Seller told me they are original but Official Omega site shows different hands for this reference.

Are those hands correct for this reference?
Can you please help or comment ?

I had a Geneve similar to yours and it had the same hands. The black material on the hands and indexes is supposed to be onyx...

There's a version with full onyx on the hands, one with onyx and lume on them and one with just lume I believe...

On one hand it matches (halfway) the onyx on the indexes, on the other hand it's possible that the original ones were full lume and might have been replaced at some point during a service...

I think mine were full onyx...

Black paint (its' not onyx) with lume is perfectly acceptable for this reference.

The lume on the hands looks a bit bright to be the original tritium

Can anyone, please tell where I can find new set of hands (hours,minutes and seconds).
I'd like to replace 'em because they are not visible at night.
Is there a reference for those hands?

You bought a vintage watch.

Part of the charm is that it doesn't glow like a demented firefly all night.

If you need to tell the time at night, maybe a Luminox, or a Casio may be more suited to night wear.

Replacing original hands with something else is not a very good thing to do especially to this kind of watch.

If you want strong lume and high visibility at night then you should go for something modern...

At most, you can have the hands re-lumed but it's not going to be that strong...

Bettet to leave "as in original" condition ?

I don't want to sound harsh, but you have a nice example of a vintage watch in original condition and you are talking about "upgrading" it with luminous hands, which is seen as vandalism by collectors. If that's a priority for you then you need a modern watch for night time wear.

It doesn't sound harsh ... but it sounds as kindly suggestion !!
You made me think about it !!!
