Quartz DeVille help

First time post on here. I’m hoping to expand my knowledge of new brands for 2025. Omega has always been a brand I’ve admired from afar and I’d like to begin my journey with these watches now that I’ve interacted with one.

This Omega DeVille 395.0875.2 got dropped off by a friend and he wanted me to look at it. I deal mostly with Seiko’s so I’m a little out of my element. I think at best it’s been serviced (he bought it online without papers) and someone swapped out the original movement for a similar ETA movement. But if I could get a second opinion or two I’d like more confidently tell him what he’s got. If feels pretty foot and from my googling the hallmarks look ok except for the movement.

Thanks for looking and sorry if this isn’t the place for it. I do plan on sticking around this forum and digging deeper not just a quick legit check and running off lol.

What do you want to know exactly? As you suggest it is a Frankenised but otherwise genuine low end model from the early 1990s, worth a coupe of hundred bucks at most. Probably less bearing in mind the generic movement.

Thanks for the info! I guess my next question is how related (if at all) that ETA 21001 is to what would have been in there already? Is it a big drop in quality? Iirc Omega used ETA or were ETA based.
Sorry for my ignorance, really new to the brand

Serial number: 54032291
Article ref: 63001100

Serial number and watch reference match what you have. Movement for this is a Cal. 1478.

Omega typically marked their version of the movement with their caliber number. On this one it would be on the wheel train bridge. Here’s a photo from eBay…

Replacement movements are available from Omega…

The ETA 210.001 fitted at present was also known in Omega use as the 1378 by the way which is an earlier version of the 1478 Al describes as original fit. It has been transplanted but with a close cousin.
