Hello all,

I bought two of the mark III cases listed on Ebay and just noticed a small issue with the caseback markings that I would like to share and hear your oponions. As you can see in the pic below the small triangle spells OVEGA WATCH Co.

Compare it to the original

I see small differences in other places as well, obviously the outside engravings were made with a different method when compared to the vintage one, also on the vintage part the threaded ledge is thinner, and the bevel on the outside is longer.

Both cases are from the same manufacturer so I would have expected the measurements to be the same even though the replacement part was made at a later date. Of course this are nuances that Im only mentioning because of the wording OVEGA, which is my main concern.

I will try to get a good close up and post it. There is no hint or trace of the “V” being an incomplete “M”, in fact the tip of the V rests lower than the tip of the valley on the M. I believe they purposely placed a complete full sized V there. If you look at the ebay auction you can see the problem there too. Did the case manufacturer messed up when they made these at a later date? Or is it something else?

The case looks great and Im really happy with the results, but Im left wondering and would appreciate your input,

Thanks in advance

P
