Pricing on used Omegas

Is it just me or pricing on popular models is going through the roof right now? I have been tracking some models I am interested in, AT 39, PO LM, PO 2500, 1863 Sapphire and have noticed that the prices are creeping up by the day.

Not only that they are actually moving very fast. I have tried to purchase 2 items on C24 and have failed both times becase the items had already sold.

I don't follow other brands closely but is this the commonplace throughout the watch market nowadays? We all know the Rolex story and is not even worth talking. But used Omegas are now selling for 5K-6K (CDN) rather very quickly. Those who frequent Canadian Forum are probably nodding at this post.

I think I might be priced out of Omegas very soon also 🙁

Yes I would definitely agree. Planet Oceans have risen about 500 to 800 on the secondary market. It is crazy what is going on. I would recommend trying to get one now pre-owned. At least you won't be losing money if you need to sell it

When I bought my first Omega 2296.80 titanium and rose gold Seamaster chronograph about 25 years ago, I was merely hopeful it would retain its value, as it was a bunch for me at the time. It has done considerably more than that. My 3590.50 moonwatch costs me $800 in 2000 and, well.... All of this has been nice. But even recent purchases like my 212.30.41.20.01.003 Diver have gone up on the used market after only a few years or so. As mentioned above, I always buy used, complete set watches so I can stay close to regaining as much investment as possible should I need to unload, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the increased value across the 6 that I own going back 25 years. This has enabled me to purchase watches without jeopardizing my marriage or our bank accounts, one of those being a bit more important than the other. I'm closer to selling what I've got than I am to expanding the herd, so if Omega wants to continue to push upmarket, I wish them well. I realize not everyone buys/collects for the same reasons, but their strategy is working for me.
