I am thinking about purchasing this model, papers only, no box. Price is around 17K USD. I have no idea what they go for, any advice on the price? Bezel is not perfect, there is some paint missing. 2-3 black dots pitting on dial.Thank you

None of the Bezels are perfect, but you do have an original one so that counts as a plus.
Lets see more of it to be sure, including the back which will show where in the series it is, and which style back it has.

For me the price is fair.

I know recently one languished at around £10,000 with a poorer bezel.

Chisties sold them for more, but tha'ts Christies, and they had extracts, boxes and some had history.

They can be had for less - if you stike when a seller is ready, or more if the buyer is desperate.

This is mine. Bezel is far from perfect but at least has original papers. As I am the seller, I will not give you opinion

Love your book! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into it to help inform/educate/taunt us.

I do have to ask and I mean no disrespect to you, the watch, or prior owners, but what the heck happened to the bezel? I know it's a tool watch but holy cow.
Cheers

Thanks. It probably means that it was used as a daily watch, probably one of very few gold speedmaster really used in normal life. I have no other explanation

And what is the price point now? I had a nice one and sold it to my buddy a few years ago as a gift for his wife and now I see it only when the four of us have dinner together.

Honestly not entirely show what the prices are for these. I was thinking anywhere from 12-15k?

What currency? If William commented on the OP's first pic that US$17k seemed fair almost two years ago, my guess is that you are somewhere between optimistic and wildly optimistic, depending on the currency that you are using (unless it is pounds sterling), as the vintage market seems to have been booming over the past two years. I sold mine a few years back at around US$15k, and it wasn't perfect.

So, I should say 17-20k?

"Values are in the $15,000-$25,000 range, but much less if worn, and without bracelets. I have seen worn heads trade for as low as $6000 - which seems like a good deal for a solid gold watch." From Speedmaster 101.

So, I don't think $15,000 for a decent version is very off price wise. But I am really not an expert. Obviously, most important part is finding a willing seller of course.
