Guys what would be very informative would be a price guide reference with condition variances for vintage Omega Seamaster 300 like the Speedmaster to help future novice purchasers
Yes thats right it would have to be updated very regularly, it certainly is a massive jump for a watch that was sold for $200
Prices look similar in Euros... be aware of the many fakes, frankens, not an easy watch to source in good condition.
These prices you say contain a lot of "ifs", thats what I wanted to cut through,to give people a grading, and grading is important , and broadly speaking $4 to $8 is the asking and the top prices are retail but do the top prices sell at that?
I have seen a couple of all original (no service dial, hands or case, original 552 with matching numbers) at reputable sellers for around 8k€, of course in great condition. Special ones like military go for a lot more than that. I also saw good ones (some service parts like hands but orginal case) in good condition for around 5k€. Anything I have seen below that is poor condition or too many service parts....
I would say that a nice 165024 example with all correct part and nice patina AND perfect original bezel will be sold in a flash between 6 and 7k US ... Add another 1k for the 1039 or 1035 /516.
Thankyou everyone for your input.it wasn't for myself I was thinking of new purchasers. I bought mine new in 1970 and from the band it was dated 1969 build.
