i've just been bitten by the connie bug, some great watches you guys have posted, Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i guess it's the most apt with all the connie junkies here. just curious but i notice there are alot more 14902s (with date) over the 14500s, is the dateless versions rarer? and in terms of valuation how do they fare side by side
As a rough guide they made 37,000 (CAL 551 no date) against 1,167,000 (CAL 561 date) across various Constellation models including 14900, so yes dateless version is much rarer.
Can't wait to get my other pie-pan in the mail. I'm still looking for a arrowhead, dog leg, date, crosshair, pie-pan connie specification. It's what I prefer the most and I've only seen 2 examples of it. Hopefully another one pops up.
Not necessarily. Some prefer watches with a date complication. Some prefer the cleaner look of a no date dial.
I think you might wait a long time for that watch. You would be better off looking for an arrowhead with curved lugs.
Curved variation would be nice too! I think a 14393 with arrows would be very nice, it's too bad the one I saw on sale was redialed. This guy has one at 9 minutes: ADVERTISING REMOVED
Wow. I hadn't really considered the pie-pan before but this thread has given me the bug for one. Beautiful watches.
