Considering this Connie. It is pretty worn and will probably go for circa £750 - would be keen to hear thoughts as to whether it is worth dipping in at that price.
Just to let you know, the auction finishes in under an hour.
It’s a mess, save this money and a little more to find a much better example. This one is way too damaged - case is shot, dial is dirty, crown is wrong.
It can take some time and frustration not to find a nice example, but they eventually turn up. If you study the reference (it’s really well known, so well documented) you will soon be able to distinguish the key features (lugs, dial etc.) that make it appealing. In a few weeks at most, you’ll go back to this post and wonder how you could even have considered this atrocity.
The trick with watches is that the search is fun (for most!). If you don’t want to search, you can pay more from a reputable dealer with some guarantees on authencity and condition (or ask here before you buy).
There is not much beginner’s luck (great watch, great price) in this hobby unfortunately, it’s usually rather beginner’s disaster (terrible watch, terrible price). Experience then helps you with assessing the condition in relation to the price.
