This one was on a local auction site with really small and bad pictures. It looked awful in the pics.
A year or so earlier I had the opportunity to buy some NOS stock of UG parts and as I was looking for a Polerouter "357" donor I took the leap and put in a bid. 2800 SKR (circa 330 USD).

I thought - "I might get a movement to use for my NOS case, plexi, crown and dial..."

It arrived.

I have done nothing to it. Circa 1956.

Needless to say - I am still loking for a donorwatch.

They all turned out quite nicely.

This is my gamble that I received yesterday just in time for Christmas. Still didn’t get around to take decent pictures and clean it. So it’s still a bit manky but I don’t mind. Have to source a new crystal. So if someone can help out, you’re more than welcome...

Wish I'd kept it. Sold it for 3x what I'd paid and then several owners later, went on to find it's way to a Christie's sale.

And another....took a chance and bought as "non working" on Ebay. Small lever on top plate was installed back to front. 5mins effort and was ticking along nicely. Gold plate but still a favourite.

😲 I remember this!! It came with the original UG straps right? What a great watch that one! I didn’t bid while it was still on eBay because I wasn’t too familiar with the watch at the time. It brings back memories to when I first started collecting vintage watches now!

Wow, great recall. Yes, it had what appeared to be the original strap. It's funny, I see watches pop up doing "the rounds" often. Sometimes they are ones I have owned 🙁 but hey, I enjoyed them and moved onto others.

After service with the DoN kept in the safe

Superb! Wish I'd kept the sellers pics of a Navitimer 806 I bought 8yrs ago. Could hardly discern the model. Was cheap, took a chance and turned out to be almost NOS. Seller was having flying lessons at the time and bought himself the Navi but never warmed to it so threw it in the draw for the next 40 yrs!

What bracelet/end links is that? I've been trying to figure it out for a while now

@88cut, it's a 1068 bor with 555 end links.

The original owner never liked the bracelet it came on & had it changed in 1969. The 2nd owner bought it as is in 1979, & used it till it stopped working sometime around 1988. It spent 19 years in a drawer till they decided to sell it. All it needed was a service & some tlc.
