    Hi team,

Was lucky to snag a "barn find"... a watch with so much old grime and human detritus I have never bought before.
The dirt around the crystal was so hard that I could not remove it with a tooth pick - it broke off...

Do you want to get a glimpse?

    crystal_rim.jpg

    nice lugs, eh?

And here the grime between the lugs...

    grime.jpg

But inside a clean movement that still ticks happily without any service... yes, I know.... :D
I will not wear it - it is just a test

And now the best of all - it is a rose gold monster of 39 mm diameter, never seen this model before...

Here a comparison with an Ed White and a Railmaster (disregard the missing chrono hand - ready for being installed)

Will get a good service and some gentle detailing to the case... thread will be updated when done ;)

Hope you love it as much as I do (although it is no Speedy)

    enjoy!

    Erich

Love it! Some of my best finds have been in similar condition as well, I wish I had some before and afters of them.

Beautiful watch and I just love to find them in that kind of condition......I get something of the Howard Carter feeling just after the first clean and just before the popping open of the case for the first time in decennia :)

There is a place in Canada that specializes in re-plating watch cases. I've not used them but hear they are quite good. Just a tip, if that is an avenue you're thinking of going down. www.Replateit.com

    Beautiful piece and congrats.

    Very nice,
And you didn't even need to prepare the dial with the twist of lemon?
    It is all the rage:D

It is 18K solid gold, not plated. No need to repair...
