once in a lifetime find :::::: the Longines counterpart for the Panerai divers from 1942. massive silver case.(steel was needed for the war effort) handmade in silver from a london jeweller. issued to the HS. Longines movement, that was bought by A&M in london. Longines archives not 100% clear about how many were made. but definitely less than 50 examples. now only 7 examples known worldwide. 51 mm. very thick. hand made. all parts numbered to guarantee later fitting when serviced. nothing was interchangeable. james dowling wrote an article in 2007. found on ebay germany. they had no idea, what they had. was a " sweaty palms " deal outside ebay and many grey cells lost....kind regards. achim

How's my future watch doing? 😁

Dunno really how to answer this question.
Perhaps these (with respect to price vs. value, and condition):
ref. 3372
ref. 14381-61
And then these fell into my lap (heirloom pieces)...
Wadsworth 14K case, cal. 351
14389-61, cal. 268
Although, more than any other, I wish my father still had this no-crown-guard Submariner to give to me!

Best in terms of overall impact would be the watch that started me off on both vintage watches and Primeros, the estate-sale A 3818 in the perfect case

Best value would be the unpolished A 386 I got for a little over USD1000 in a BUy-It-Now ebay listing from a clueless Miami dealer in vintage handbags

Best overall would be the pristine (except for the spidered crystal) G 382 from a picker whose beat was foreclosed properties in Colorado.
