The entire kit is $12, no hardship to buy them all.
The cleaner is perhaps not 100% necessary, but it's good to finish.
Whether you use the rough scratch remover depends on how deep you gouged your crystal. For most minor dings, the fine scratch remover is enough. Polywatch is approximately the fine scratch remover.
In no case does either of these scratch your bezel if you happen to slop over a bit but be aware that it doesn't take a lot of abrasive to polish a crystal; in fact, too much is actually worse. I use a tiny dab and then a gun-cleaning patch, which is basically a 5cm square (2") piece of cotton flannel.
