@dsio
@Bill Sohne
@cicindela

When a member repeatedly fails to understand the rules of the Private Sales forum and apparently haven't posted anything but sales related posts in half a year, does that member get

a) banned?
b) informed he can no longer post in the Private Sales forum?

@tmw57 - are the rules really that hard to grasp??

Not sure I agree with the rule, but

I don't agree with it either.

However, his two bumps yesterday or the two last Friday - or those I cannot see on his profile because they were removed by the mods - weren't new title markings.

My main gripe is that someone who contributes with little else than sales posts - and yet cannot understand the rule set for said subforum - hasn't been pointed towards the Sales subforum.

What is allowed as per your screenshot is editing the title which doesn鈥檛 bump the listing as such.

I鈥檝e marked one of my listings OHPF today - you didn鈥檛 see it in new posts 馃榾

@tmw57 not only changes the title but posts OHPF which bumps his listings and is against forum rules if done on several listings of the private sales section on one day. 馃憥

If this is true, then I agree with the rule ... and also misunderstood it. I never bump when an item sells, I just change the title.

Congrats on the sale BTW. 馃憤

I disagree. Posters mark things sold, in the title, all the time and then bump it with a "sold" post. I know that's okay, as much as I hate it. Same goes for OHPF, per what @Dan S posted.
Personally, I don't like that listings can be bumped when there's a change of status but I don't make the rules.

If you only change the title, it doesn鈥檛 bump the listing. -> several title edits a day 馃憤

If you post the new status in the thread (for whatever reason) it bumps the listing. -> several bumps a day 馃憥

I think the rule is to be interpreted as @efauser and @Dan S do. If it were otherwise, there would no reason to state the exception.

@ConElPueblo I do not get the point.

You change as many titles as you like as often as you like. It鈥檚 totally transparent to all other forum users.

PITA is when several listings are bumped as they get at the top of the section all together and appear in the general new posts section of the forums. The seller who wants to bump several listings a day can always post in the private section, there鈥檚 no daily posts/bumps limitations in there.

I do respect that 1-listing-post-bump-per-day rule and like it. Don鈥檛 get me wrong. But I don鈥檛 see why it should affect the title change. Then you should also forbid editing more than 1 post a day - it鈥檚 transparent for the others, why bother?
