One more: the theft of a Panerai figures prominently in the plot of the Death Wish remake starring Bruce Willis.

It felt like product placement...”I love Panerai watches and wish I had a Panerai on my wrist. Oh no you stole my Panerai watch. I wish I had an ice cold Coca Cola classic while I look at my Panerai watch available at your nearest Panerai store.”

In the TV mini Series "the Strain" the elderly vampire hunter, who had been a pawn broker in Europe since the end of WW2 pays off the leader of a criminal gang with his vintage watch. The watch apparently worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I've tried before unsuccessfully to find any mention of this watch or a clip from the series showing it.

It was an X-33 gen1. The producers of the movie wanted a futuristic watch, and liked the shape of the X-33 but BVGARI ponied up bucks for product placement. So the producers simply CGIed BVGARI’S name and a furturistic screen onto the real Omega dial. Rumor is Omega sued and it was settled out of court.

A lot of the bad guys from Die Hard 2 are wearing Tag Heuer and General Espernaza is naturally wearing a Rolex.
McClane himself wears a Tag Heuer in the original Die Hard, although, like a plonker, on the underside of his wrist 🤦

That Pocket Watch he examined was really great, I think he hired the maker to work on his inventions.
The king had a tiny watch that was built into a ring. Another cool piece.
