Let's not confuse watch with time. There are many great sci-fi movies that involve the concept of "time", for example: Arrival to name a recent one. Please think of movies where the watch itself figured very prominently. I'll start with: Interstellar The watch: Hamilton Khaki Automatic
The Edge, with Alec Baldwin, Elle McPherson, and Anthony Hopkins. Legends of the Fall. Men in Black. Hugo (all right. That featured a tower clock.)
Sean Connery in the Terroist. Omega Speedmaster Mark II is the detonator for a bomb. https://omegaforums.net/threads/celebrities-wearing-omegas.71721/page-4#post-1137099
I wouldn't say that the watch figured very prominently, but it's an iconic connection, especially given the popularity of the ref. 6105
"Hail, Ceasar" features a few watches with regular 2 or 3 second shots lingering on the wrists ... it was driving me nuts that I couldn't actually identify any of them, particularly this hexagonal (edit: looking again that the picture, of course I mean one of those 8 sided hexagons or, as they are known in some parts of the world, octagons) cased piece of Deco perfection:
I mean the obvious choice is Spectre with the SM300, and various other bond flicks, naturally. There's a pretty cool scene in the Marvel film 'Doctor Strange' featuring a draw full of watches, and his JLC is somewhat important to the story line.
“All is Lost” Robert Redford SKX009 on blue nato. Looks like the online IMDb for watches in movies no longer exists.
Big Shots. Submariner is central. I loved this movie as a kid. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Shots_(film)
