As much as I’m into watches, here’s the reason I love the original version of The Getaway ~

🙄
No question about it.

I turned on the TV just in time to watch George C. Scott search for the bomb in the 1975 disaster movie, The Hindenburg. He kept checking his vintage CYMA - I am unsure if it’s period correct.

Didn’t turn out well, from all accounts.

Hawkeye series. They actually call this "the vintage Rolex" in one episode...

I’m not big on the watches in movies thing but I’m half watching “war of the worlds” and it appears the aliens used and EMP type thing that stopped all mechanical goods. Toms omega unfortunately hit I believe it’s ref. 245.97.567.87.08d

"My watch... it's magnetized."

An excellent film. The remake is an insult

Looks like Brad Pitt is wearing a Breitling chronograph (as he’s a brand ambassador) on a strap in Bullet Train, unless he’s gone to the dark side and it’s a Speedy...

The 2021 movie "Operation Mincemeat' (based on a 1943 covert Ops which was also shown in the 1956 movie "The Man Who Never Was") has a scene in which Commander RNVR Ian Fleming visits Royal Navy "Q branch" and operated a wrist watch with a rotating saw bezel

Not a movie, but I got a good screencap of Graeme Hall's FOIS on a horned Forstner Komfit band, Channel 5's "Dogs Behaving Very Badly"

1960…. 62 years ago. The quality of the black and white film is amazing.
Looks like Captain Kirk is sporting a nice sub-second’s watch in the Twighlight Zone episode The Nick Of Time…..
But what watch is he wearing?

I love the Twilight Zone. Dad introduced us to it when we were kids and I paid a little attention. But when I was working an internship one summer, the only channel that came in was METV (Memorable Entertainment Television). The Rifleman was on when I got home from work, then usually 1 Adam 12, perhaps Emergency or Bonanza or Gunsmoke after that, and then at 10 an hour of the Twilight Zone followed by Iron Sides or Perry Mason or such. But the Twilight Zone became my main feature for the evening. That was just a sliver of the fun I had that summer. What a great one

It looks like correct 1950s Made-in-England SMITHS wrist watches in BBC series " Summer of Rockets "
Small size, white/cream dial with 60 seconds subdial at 6 o'clock ... Even a microphone stashed into a wrist watch.

Was watching this yesterday and couldn't help but notice this brand placement in War of the Worlds, Tom Cruises Omega, still working after an EMP strike.
