Likely mentioned somewhere in 21 pages, but John Wick came to mind

I haven't watched that movie in a long time, but I used to love it.

Here is the link to the clip above:

Always wondered what watches Oliver Stone gave the guys that filmed Platoon. In reference to the above post: when Michael Douglas was filming the greed is good speech he stopped once and said hey Oliver, I'm right here. Mr Stone was looking at the script, checking words.... My brainwaves are very strong according to OS. I used to listen to Stone's commentary on his films on dvd. Sadly he never mentioned any watches, ever

The Andromeda Strain 1971.... timed throughout. 40 minutes to get the helicopter, 16 hours for decontamination, 6 hour rest periods and a nail biting finish with a 5 minute end of the world self-destruct and 8 seconds left in the clock. Not an easy one to watch these days.

The remake wasn’t great, but I love the original...

I also think the original preserved remarkably the fantastic feeling of early space age Scifi. The set design, camera angles, and soundscape were very effective. If they made the movie in 2021 it would be an atrocious green screened debacle of subplots irrelevant to the original storyline in an effort to appeal to people that were never intended to be the original audience

It was a great book too, Micheal Crichton's first big hit.

Based on Hoddinkee Fratello he had a good eye for watches as well with a futeristic Flightmaster. I think the shot below is from the Westworld set (another seventies classic )

I found myself obsessively watching the watch Vincent D'Onofrio was wearing whilst playing the role of Vincent "Chin" Gigante in the Series "Godfather of Harlem."

Around S1E5 I noticed an anomoly on the nice but unremarkable (to me), gold dress watch with a leather strap. What were those things? Was it a crack in the crystal? Were they guards? Episode after episode I poured over every frame the watch came up in. Finally I got it! The hands were not attached, both hands had come adrift and for some reason they just kept using the watch week after week even months as the hands floated around the dial...
Would love to have this confirmed. I was unable to take a screenshot, not sure why, so this is a general pic from the movie.

I think it's time for me to sell all of my watches because I just found the only watch I'll ever need.

A Heuer pre-Carrera is shown up close on the wrist of Bo Hopkins' character in Sam Peckinpah's 1972 "The Getaway" with Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw. A film worth watching too.

Steve McQueen wears a Gruen...

Ali MacGraw wears a Caravelle...

As much as I’m into watches, here’s the reason I love the original version of The Getaway ~
