After the Omega Boutique experience they celebrate with Piper Heidsick cuvée brut champagne, I literally became a fan of Piper since then, I know it’s not watch related but in the new movie they heavily advertised it, I mean if you buy a watch you get a glass or bottle of Piper but still haha

Having dug into this the plane might have been a jet but the survival box was prop driven ('good spot though)

It does look like there was a strong 'Sub'- plot in the Deer Hunter. One odd point is that is must be someone restraining Christopher Walken in the rescue chopper with a watch (or a continuity error) as clearly none of the escaped prisoners are wearing a watch / he has no watch when pulled into the helicopter.

Dirty Harry - classic film with a huge amount of creative input from Clint Eastwood. Your Timex is up if facing down Harry (Timex electric?)

Not a movie, but Damien Lewis wears an A-11 in Band of Brothers. When he found out he had been cast, he went and bought an original, so he is the only cast member to wear an original watch; everyone else in the show wore replicas.[IMG]

I binge that mini series every summer beginning early in the morning on June 6

Edit: typically followed by other classics like The Longest Day, Battle of Britain, Too Late the Hero, Patton, etc. Such a great genre and era in filmmaking

Francis Ford Coppola classic - The Conversation. Gene Hackman's wrist watch is prominent in a lot of shots but I cant spot the make.
I can spot a few other famous faces. Also John Cazale RIP - what an actor / the only actor where every film he was in won an Oscar - the guy died far too young.

I can't find a good still of it, but there's a scene in Gallipoli where the several of the officers are shown with unsynchronized watches, with disastrous results.

The specific "Jaeger" referenced is the Jaeger-LeCoultre [IMG] [IMG]AMVOX 3 Tourbillon GMT, which he wore to the IM2 Premiere.

It took me 45-60 seconds of starting at this thing to sort out where/how the GMT function resided: only to discover it’s not really a GMT, but instead a second time zone watch using a12hr base with AM/PM indicator.

I assume the sub-dial at 6 is the running seconds?

    Then there’s the turd-billon....

Sorry for the thread drift, but Tony Stark would have preferred something else I think.

not only a GMT, but a “noon-day” or “12 on top” GMT... that’s better

still the issue of the turd-billon ::stirthepot::

I was thinking about this thread today (which is great BTW), and non-Bond films in which Omega is featured.

A good recent example of this is Dunkirk. The watch is an Omega 2129. Apparently, only about 2,000 of these were made with rotating bezels at the request of the RAF. Video clip and photos follow. Watch is shown at ~1:43 and 2:07 in the clip.

Technically, not a movie. Vincenzo. Rado figures prominently even in a key plot twist at the end. Plus the main character has a WIS-like collection of watches (none of which is a Rado). Ive seen several models of Zenith, Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Breitling, among others.

I hate to have to ask, but, what does WIS stand for?
