A friend told me Seymore butts wears a Tag Heuer in most of his movies as do many others from the valley working in that field. I don't have a screen shot to post as I don't watch that kind of stuff. Honest.

Just thought of this one from The Sixth Sense... it doesn't work, but the boy wears it anyway. Anyone know the make/model?

Worn by Michael Douglas’ character in the film Falling Down
I’m wondering if the premise of this film is more relevant now than it was nearly 30 years ago?

From "The Magic House", 1939 Czech film.

First time I've seen a Helvetia in a film, or identifiable in any period photo. Near the start of the film, he is riding a motorbike in the rain and comes across a woman lying in the road.

It looks so new and shiny compared to the condition you see them in nowadays, I'm sure the 41mm pilots watch would be great for telling the time easily on a bike but he's getting it all wet!!

I just saw minority report again. A time critical film but looking at it with 2020 (soon to be 2021) technology eyes there are a lot of plot holes. Still a good watch.... but what the hell watches are they? Omega or Bvlgari ??

First few seconds of this clip feature a nice vintage (?) watch that looks to be a "Jumbo" of some sort.
I think someone on this board has it's twin.
Can anyone ID it?

Don't think this one has been mentioned - Jean Reno wearing the Citizen Aqualand in The Big Blue...

I don't think this one has been mentioned either ...

And eagle-eyed space fans might spot a blue Seiko 6139-600x on the wrist of actor Ed Harris, playing Gene Kranz in Apollo 13 (a detail that the props team on the film got a bit wrong, as Gene famously wore a Seiko 6119-8460… other actors in the film were seen with Speedmasters, with what looked like 1171 bracelets that didn’t appear until 1970 … still, let’s not get bogged down…)

The Ed Harris watch in question looks to have minimal text under the SEIKO logo, so it’s probably a –6005, which would only say AUTOMATIC beneath the larger logo, rather than CHRONOGRAPH | AUTOMATIC. It also didn’t appear to have WATER 70m RESIST at 9 o’clock, which would mean that actual watch is from 1972 or later.

Lots of Bond films.

Definitely. Just watched Spectre last night and Bond's Omega saves the day (once again) against Blofeld. Handy.

The opening speech by Alex Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross, likely already mentioned.

Blake : You see this watch? You see this watch?
Dave Moss : Yeah.
Blake : That watch costs more than your car. I made $970,000 last year. How much'd you make?

Phillip K Dick stories are as much a conflation of science and supernatural fantasy as anything else.
He developed his style after an accidental OD on painkillers while suffering a tooth infection that may have damaged the temporal lobe of his brain.
He lived out the entire lifetime of a medieval Jewish theologian in his mind while in a coma like dream state.

I think this one could be a Helvetia too. Still from the clip:

Most of their post war dress watches were at least 34mm.
Logo looks like it would fit.
I have the case below but I am sure I have seen one exactly the same as the one in the clip as well.

They also used those hands quite a bit then too, another of mine with the same hands.

I'll keep my eyes open for a better fit.

No sub seconds dial on the watch in the clip.
The actor wearing the watch has slender girly man wrists, so the watch may not be as big as it looks.
I'm thinking I've seen a similar ARSA Jumbo in recent months.

Yes, It's not the same watch as either of the two I posted but saying there are design similarities.

This seems to be an Omega X-33... Gen 1 or 2.

The film Tenet was surprisingly good (time itself a central character in the film), and with Hamilton watches playing plot-sensitive “roles.”

In fact, apparently Hamilton specially made prop-watches as the film required a watch with features that Hamilton did not produce.

While the digital prop version can’t be purchased, Hamilton does sell a SE Tenet auto version for around $2K 😲😵‍💫

Several other Hamilton models can be seen in the film. For some reason the director Christopher Nolan and Hamilton appear to have a relationship, as Hamilton also featured prominently in Interstellar

I saw Dunkirk a few years ago when it came out, and I really loved the Omega pilot's watch that Tom Hardy's character wears. There are multiple close-up shots of the watch as he's flying. It was really cool to come home after that movie and search for the watch.

Airforce survival kits of WW2 were supposed to have one generic Swiss watch with no American markings. These were to be used as trade goods.

There are Military issued food type cans containing several cheap watches found occasionally among Militaria. No one ever opens these so details are unknown. Its speculated these were to be given to native coast watchers and such so they could time enemy shipping movements.
