Hi guys, just found a 105.002 speedy in local store which priced very high but of course the price is negotiable, it’s an quite old watch and got quite many problems too so I’m asking for help to value this one.

Dial: Good clean dial, looks original discoloured lumes, the owner stated it is turning brown but I’m not sure is it good enough to charge premium.
Case: Got quite many ding and the bevel on lugs looks rough, seems overpolished before.
Hands:Not sure is it original, but the lumes on those hands seems consistent, loos good to me.
Bezel: Fair telemeter bezel, not DON bezel, is it need to count when pricing?
Bracelet: 7912 with aftermarket 6 endlink.
Pusher and crown: Not sure is it a correct one.
Extract of omega: yes come with it.

Please help me value this watch, 105002 is priced about 17000usd in good sector on speedmaster101, how much will you pay for this one, higher or lower?

You have to look at this watch two ways.

First, do you like the way it looks? Does it please you?

if it does, then we can analyse the components to make sure they are correct for the reference, and in what condition they are.

Two pointers, first the dial has degraded lume which does not win me over unless the price is attractive.

secondly the alpha hands are thin lume, and the bezel is NOT a DO90 which means compared to an identical watch it will be worth less than one with a DO90 bezel - even though the vintage telemetre bezel is rarer.

if you want an honest opinion on price, you will get better response if you tell us the ask. Not many want to stick their neck out until you name the price.

Thanks for reply, I didn’t say the price because it’s not a reasonable one and I’m not sure why the owner pricing this watch so high, it’s about 48000usd, and already stay on closets about one years.

.

Actually, it’s a vintage TELEMETER bezel which, I think, is VERY rare.😀

I would certainly swap a DO90 for the OP bezel.

Later crown. The degradation of the dial and hands provide very little visual contrast, therefore the appearance and presentation is a bit flat, to my eye.

If I were to stick my neck out, I would say, at *minimum* it is 4 times as much. OP is far better off buying something from the Private Sales section here. OP, if you are on Insta, ATM there is a different but very very nice watch on sales for less than half that asking. If you are a $50K spender you can get something really really nice - certainly not the posted watch. And, mind you, as a general reference @Spacefruit's "Good" is a very strict criterion and unfortunately from the pics you shared, nothing on this watch (case, dial or bezel) makes it even close to the Good category. Just my 2c.

IMO (and I am kind of guesstimating) $18-$21K USD
No disrespect, but I think $18K in itself is way too much. Again, just trying to help the OP with my 2c knowledge.

Ya, I get it. I just always estimate on the low side. I added the adjustment $ for lack of experience.
