Hey everyone.
i'm new to the forum. and new watch collector, if you can call it like that 😁
i recently purchased 2 Omega watches.
and i want to share them with the forum.
the first one i bought couple of month's ago is a 50's like new classic simple dial,
case size: 33mm. gold plated 80 micron manual winding.

and the second (dream come true) is an 1964, Omega Piepan Constellation gold filled automatic winding.
cal.561
case size; 34mm
would like to know any intresting info that might be. and the question i have is does this dial with 12-6-9 is less common for the piepans? more rare? less?
thank you!
i love photographing, adding some pics from the phone 😀

Very handsome watches, and so much cooler than 99% of modern. I really like this dial design of the Connie. It is less common than all indexes, but they do come up.

Sorry if it disappoints you but I think there is something odd about the Connie dial - it looks like the indexes at 10 and 11 do not have notches for the lume whereas the other do - that may just be the photo angle. The reference on the caseback 138.005 also seems wrong to me I think it is normally starting 168.xxx. The crown may also not be correct but there are much more knowledgeable people than me. These details may not be important if you are looking more to wear them and enjoy them. I wait with interest for the more knowledgeable to comment.

Well spotted!!

I'm not sure but I think the number is 168.005 (and not 138.005)

Case is also a bit to rounded but if the price was right I think for a fist Connie that isn't bad.

Very nice dial and that is very important

Hi @HumbleWatcher and welcome!

Really great dials you have there. Going for vintage is very rewarding I think, as these designs are timeless. You wear them really well and in 20 years they are still gonna look awesome.

I also like this 12 3 6 9 configuration on the dial. For some reason it makes a watch less serious and more sporty like 😀

Connies (Constellations) were designed to be chic dress watches but with that dial it kinda dwells between a dressed up sports watch and a relaxed and casual dress watch, I think!

Wear them in good health!

i agree. i have couple moderns. and i just cant wear them anymore after feeling what is an Vintage Omega quality.
i understood about the lumes. i checked good. yes it is the photo angel 😁
the refference case is 100% 168.005 😀
about the crown i actualy dont have idea if its original. but its 100% Omega. it has the logo.
i super enjoy wearing the piepan. very unique for me. thank you again for your feedback. very important info to check ^^

I really like this picture

Yep seems our self-professed newbie collector is already a pro with the in-car style of photography. I do like the hint of palm trees in the background in one shot as it sure beats my present locale 👍

While I don't have a Pie Pan thing like most people, I do love the first one, such a beautiful dial, and handwind, best 😀

What is the reference number and/or the caliber number?
The blue strap is really nice as well but I do think that with the red leather strap it is a killer combo!

serial. - 12803312 .
movement - 283
the red leather is very rich colored. just a personal choice for my daily cloths that are black, grey and blue etc
so it will look better for me 😀 but we will see...

What I meant is that the lugs are rounded from polishing. They were straight and angular when the watch left the factory.

Also the medallion on the caseback is a bit blurred from polishing

But this is nothing that should worry you...

You can compare with other Connies here

oh god. my heart can't handle this much beauty
thanks for showing, now i see 😀
so much awsome variations.
