Pie pan case difference?

Hi guys,

Today I received my second Pie Pan 168.005, with which I am(/was?) pretty content.

When comparing both models, I noticed that one has much more slender lugs than the other. I am aware that Omega used different case manufacturers over the years, but I wasn’t aware of any major differences in the cases like this.
The one I got today is stamped 168.005 SP with the CB logo under the case reference. Here are some pictures of both watches. Do I need to worry or is this a normal difference?

Thanks!

To be honest I can't spot the differences you are talking about.

Despite the wrong crown your new watch looks nice and will look even better after some cleaning

I mean this. One lug is much broader (is that the right word for it?) than the other.

The crown is not a problem, I have a genuine ten sided crown and new crystal waiting to be fitted.

See what you mean now!

May be polishing, especially the 7/8 lug on the 'new one' looks quite thin.

Is that the 7/8 lug?

BTW the bezel is carcked at 5

No, all lugs are the same. Doesn’t look like a polished me, it would be the best polish I’ve ever seen.

You’re right about the bezel though, which is quite an unpleasant surprise.

If the slender case was polished, the lug would look like a soft lump of metal, so I doubt that is responsible for the difference.
Are they both CBs, or is one an SGR?

Different manufacturer, différent year… (the first one is older if I’m not wrong).

so nothing to worry about

One is indeed an SGR. But I never knew there were differences.
