Is there a difference in 145.022 cases or are they later service replacements? The cases I refer to have a thicker brushed side and it drops down by the lugs. I’ve seen this case on many Speedmaster on the sales section here but no mention of it’s a service replacement

Did a site search but the key words are often used.

 

I started a thread on this a few months ago as I was curious and noticed the same thing.
The consensus seemed to be that all vintage 145022 mid cases were the same, more or less.

The 60s and 70s cases seem to drop down more.

 

Thanks for your input. It does appear though that your thread didn't resolve it either. The past few 60's/70's speedmasters here have had different case profiles

 

There are certainly variations between different 145.022 references. Not just between vintage and modern, but also between different vintage references.
