In your place, I would search the forum to find recommendations for watch repair / watchmakers for vintage Omega in the US. These days, it's harder to find someone local, but there is nothing difficult about shipping this watch domestically. You can just put it in a small priority mail box, and send it fully insured. Several people/shops are often mentioned (e.g. Morehouse, Zimmerman, Mackrain).

I would just add, perhaps broaden the search by asking on a few Omega Specific Facebook Groups for recommendations local to your state.

I have a mate in NC who will get back to me on Monday after messaging a buddy or two of his. I'll let you know what they come up with.

They just try it. They will most likely outsource the work to a 3rd party and make USD 1k in the process
Bingo…Things have gotten more expensive but I’d think a Max budget of $700 is more appropriate for a proper job from an independent Omega certified shop. This looks like it will clean up nicely.

Thanks - it would be nice to have someone in Western NC, upstate SC or Atlanta area if possible.

The condition of that case is really unusual, especially for a dressy watch, it's so beat up and worn, but not polished. It's as if it was left in a junk drawer. It will be interesting to see if Omega Addict can do a professional refinish.

I was thinking the same thing, Dan. I'm not familiar with OA's work, but I'll look forward to seeing photos of the watch when the service is completed. .

Not outrageous in my view for a watch in this condition, but a few observations. The price for the crown and the crystal seem cheap to me, but someone like @Archer would be better qualified to comment. Also, case detail for $25 makes me nervous. If that means ultrasonic cleaning of the case, fine. If that means polishing, red alert, because that price is way too low for a professional case restoration. Finally, $39 is not going to get you a strap and buckle worthy of a vintage Constellation. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Seems like they did quite well! Looks fantastic with the correct crown (period correct or repro?) and a dressy strap. Would be great to see an in-focus photo of the dial head on. Try getting one in natural light, I think a good photo will really do justice to your before/after comparison

Period correct would have been a flat foot logo. These were discontinued a long time ago.

Anyway, @stonemd glad it all worked out and you ended up paying what, a quarter of the first service quote you got? Enjoy!

I would’ve left the case alone… the bezel is pretty much soft on the bezel now.
Still nice, enjoy.
