Hmm... I reproduce the ebay listing here, which shows the shipping to Singapore was clearly stated as GBP30.33. Same watch, same picture, with an ebay auction which ended 2h 15 min before your post.

Indeed the seller has 15 feedbacks, 0 as a seller
No import charges mentioned on that page.
With a lot of listings, I see import charges listed under the postage charge. I don't know why some sellers have that listed, & some don't.

See this screenshot - import charges were mentioned

My points are these
1. you knew the import charges were included, and that you had to pay shipping of GBP30, cos the seller used ebay''s GSP.
2. you didn't check properly about the 15 buyer feedback, 0 seller feedback

You backed out of the sale when the seller didn't agree to use an alternative to the GSP. Basically you took a gamble on the seller having an alternative to GSP, and missed the Due D on the feedback. When the cards didn't fall your way, you elected to back out of the sale.

I don't think it's very nice behaviour towards the seller, but I do understand why someone would do it. I just wouldn't do it myself.

ok. It's my words against yours and I can't be bothered arguing with you over the internet. Have a great Friday.

I guess it's not a question of one person's words against anyone else's.

IMO, It's simply not nice to mess up an ebay seller's sale simply because you failed to do Due D on feedback , and import charges, when the information was available to you before the sale. Sellers do invest time and effort in putting up items for sale. Also, the unsuccessful bidders were deprived of a chance to buy the watch.

We all make mistakes - I've made the exact same error about import charges with GSP but sucked it up and paid the import charges, as it was legitimately due to my government anyway. What defines us I think is our response to our errors. I accept that your response was different from what I had done, and I'm not arguing with you at all, merely stating that I would've done it quite differently.

have a good weekend too!
