I like it. I would buy it today, if offered to me.
Me too, a good watch, at half the price….

3 points re platinum cube. Which is the one I want.

a) because it’s a newly dev movement with big-date being the center of attention, it should have its own pusher, instead of using a key/tool to set. (This won’t change)

2) God damn $100k is steep. (A steel model could be priced under $50k, next year)

And finally, it needs to be 2mm smaller. (This will most likely happens in next few releases)

This release from Patek mimics AP CODE line. I expect to see the line mature rapidly in the next few years. Cubilus needs a new bracelet, the chunky Nautilus’ it’s borrowing from doesn’t add up to a new/exciting look

Patek peeks thru their clients’ collection, they clearly saw an opportunity for a hot square Patek. I’m a buyer at $50k, with some complications and a tad smaller.

This is a great first attempt.

$50k is a ridiculous price for this PP sports watch, there is a lot of competition with better designs and better movements, but the 'experts' must have the Patek. And it's not even attractive, imo.

Can you really say "great first attempt" when dealing with an historic company like Patek.

Disappointing first attempt but with room to refine it in the future feels more honest

Two plain Janes do nothing for me. But jumbo Date calendar is sexy. I want it.

The man at helm admitted himself that

“I've been responsible for creation for a long time. I'm good at it without really having a clue, I never went to design school.”

“The haters are mostly people who have never had a Patek and never will.”

“ Also, I really have endless ideas. We recently had a meeting that resulted in 20 different models.”

Endless ideas are normally associates with juvenile minds….. I may be wrong.

PS: I also own 4 Patek Philippe watches BTW.

I'd love to earn millions to not have a clue and say "make natilus square lol" - he's confusing brand hype with design success. The fact the Cubitus isn't well received is almost irrelevant. People buy Patek for the status, it only has to look inoffensive. In that sense, he has met his creative obligations.

I honestly feel the target market is people who have everything else in the drawer already. It is not ugly but there are quite a number of square pieces on the market already with serious history behind the model rather than the brand.

I don't hate it but I don't want it either
We need not hate anything per se. There is always an option to avoid it if we don’t like.

Funny how the hype of people hating it is just as good as the hype of people liking it in today’s social media age.. getting twice the amount of Instagram pictures on feed from both camps.

As mentioned above, it’s the will probably never own a PP watch crowd that is making all the noise.

The new monniker ; Orecchio Floscio Quadrato, as in Italian it sounds way better then just Flappy Ears.

i am not on the list for this one, or any other 40K watch tbh, and when that changes i think i wont be on the list for this one either. In doubt for this one though which was way ahead of its time in 2022 ;

Moser had its 'Icons' watch some years ago, so PP has a big field to run around on for future variants.

In general, I kind of like it, although it feels a little forced, like an updated car model that has one too many angles.

But I'm not the target audience and never will be. Fortunately, I can comfort myself with one of these:
