I got a watch back from service with one of these on it. Watchmaker didn’t tell me and I was about to call and ask why the replaced crystal had little bubbles and realized it was protective film.
It does change clarity I removed it and living dangerously with bare acrylic!!!
Never thought about keepin it on.

I can’t tell you how many emails I’ve received with people complaining about the dial or crystal, and I’ve asked “have you removed the clear film?” 😀

Got to the point I stopped putting them on for the most part.

BTW genuine Omega acrylic crystals come with these on them already.
