Hey there,
New to the forum. Bought this vintage OT at an online auction, overpriced in my opinion but defo fell in love with the look. Struggling to find if the black dial is original or it’s a redial. Seller claims it’s been professionally restored. All I find is in this era dial was in cream or champagne.
What’s your opinion?
Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately, being 'professionally restored' is just more-polite language to refer to the fact that it was redialed. A particularly clear giveaway is the fact that the sub-second circle has lost its circular brushing.

In my opinion, it still looks nice, though - and, if you like how it looks on your wrist, that's the most important thing

If the seller is telling you that the watch was "professionally restored" that's just another word for a redial. If you like it, that's all that really matters and hopefully you didn't pay too much for it. If you want an unrestored, original vintage watch, I'm afraid that this isn't one. You can always ask the seller if they will take it back.

Yep, refinished dial. The sub dial is an easy tell.
