·ORIS cal 453 Vintage Manual Winding Date Pointer Watch
FOR SALE: $275 USD REDUCED.
An interesting and unusual little Oris date pointer cal 453 from 50’s. An earlier vintage version of the popular Oris date pointer watch. I have owned it since January 2021 and never wore it other than to photograph it.
Movement: Oris caliber 453 seven jewels , hand wound with sub second dial and date function. Serviced January 2021 by prior owner replaced balance shaft. No detailed service records. Running well, pointer date working
Case: Stainless steel, with steel caseback reading “ORIS Waterproof Antimagnetic, Stainless Steel Back”. Lugs are rounded not sure if this is the actual case style, looks like it had some polishing somewhere along the way. Drilled lugs 16 mm lug width.
Measurements case : 31 mm excluding crown, 10 mm thick
Crown: Bowler style, works well. May be service replacement not sure.
Dial: Original black dial in good condition, with some wear and paint loss on periphery of date numerals as seen on photos. Lume plots on hour indices have darkened with age. Arabic gold 12, 3, 9 markers.
Hands: Gold hour, minute, date pointer and subdial hands I think original, hour and minute hands are “skeletonized”, probably lost lume somewhere along the way. Quite attractive in current condition.
Crystal: Acrylic no significant scratches, looks polished, unsure if original
Comes with flat black leather strap (without stitching) 16 mm wide, 20 cm long. The Torre custom black strap with visible stitching which is seen on some photos is available for additional cost of $75.
Condition: Interesting tidy little watch keeping good vintage time, recently serviced all functions work well, not tested for water resistance.
Watch and I located in Toronto, Canada. Will ship insured buyers choice at actual cost.
ASKING PRICE: REDUCED to $275 net, plus shipping. Torre custom strap is new and unworn, available for extra $75. Paypal FF, or GS + 4% extra fee buyers expense. Zelle also ok for US buyers.
All vintage watches should NOT be considered waterproof. The watch is running well as it should on all functions at this time. No future warranty regarding Watch function is provided as this is a vintage watch.
