This beauty was worn by a family member every single day for over 30 years...

It was the first watch I ever liked. I was a kid (born in 80s). Now it has pride of place in my collection.

Totally original in every way. Serviced once in its life, when it was about 25 years old. Not a full service, no parts replaced.

And no, it doesn’t run...

Get it running! thats like having a 60s 427 'vette in the garage that doesn't run... why have it if you can't run it?

It's like: hi, let me introduce you to my beautiful girlfriend.... naw... I never touch her.

It's makes her so sad!

A friggin Greek tragedy

Other than that... nice watch!

I am going to get it running!

The owner stopped wearing it when it stopped running, and (a) wouldn’t accept changing any parts and (b) didn’t want to wear any other watch. So it has sat around for a decade or so.

I was also upset, so at long last I got permission to “borrow” the watch, at least for a few years. I’ll get her running and wear with pride and joy.

I’m a bit surprised at how well the lume has held up. Hasn’t changed colour much really.

The bezel has turned a nice blueish grey.

It's not SKX, that time they were not in the production yet😉

Looks like a second generation of 6309 diver.

Case backs help to sell Seikos. They have production month and year coded on them. I concur it’s not an SKX, but it’s older brother, either a 6309 or early 7002.

Seiko has magic lume. I’ve got a 68 that still glows and seen some 69-70’s that still glow as well.

I sent it to Simon Freese...Overkill perhaps to send it to an elite watchmaker, but it’s the watch that started it all for me, so high sentimental value!

Overkill on some eyes, just the right move in others.

Would you send your Honda S600 Coupe to Kmart for servicing?
Or that old guy who's been doing vintage Hondas for fifty years and will not fit turbos or fat wheels to any car he works on unless they came originally with those items.
