Hi All,
Just getting into a watch collection hobby. Came across this one, wanted to check if it's fake.

Can you please explain how did you come to that conclusion ? Just for my understanding. Thanks
Lots of issues here, but the biggest that should tip you something is wrong is the "BROAD ARROW" labelling on the rear, when there is no broad arrow hand. Other than that, pretty much everything is wrong that could be wrong.

A chronograph is not supposed to time days a week and days a month, a GMT counter is also not common.

Once you've studied hundreds (some of us thousands) of Speedmasters you recognise immediately the outlier.

There are many issues with is one though so it jumps right at you.

It doesn't correspond to any authentic Omega, and many members are simply familiar with Omega watches. Additionally, it looks like garbage ... the quality of everything is clearly very poor. If you take the time to look carefully at the dial, the functions are wrong.

Bottom line, if you spend some more time looking at legit Omega watches, you will come back to this thread and it will probably be obvious to you as well. It's just a cheap knock-off, not a reproduction or really trying to fool anyone.

What everyone above said. I’ll add, if you told us the price, that would be yet another tell.

Compare the subdials on that one to the subdials on a real Speedmaster. If you can’t see any differences, you should not be looking for a Speedmaster online.

I usualy skip the Speedy pics, but even I reacted to this one. So if you are inerested in a newbies view in addition to the things mentioned above:

  • dial looks weird, logo and fonts just looks off
  • bezel is angeled downwards, the pros have it straight out
  • bracelet looks rough and clasp is sheat metal and endlinks looks as they were made by me
  • seahores looks sad and the background isn`t well defined.

Welcome to OF @sunnysideup and good luck in your Omega hunt.

One immediate tell is that the “chronograph” buttons on the case edge are dummies! They don’t do anything! Investigate before you invest!

Conclusion? Everything is wrong with this 🤮! Too much wrong with it to even try to list everything!

This was an 'immediately obviously fake' to me. Look up a picture of ANY other speed master, and you'll see that the dial doesn't look ANYTHING like a speedmaster. Even if it was a different color scheme, there are definite, obvious differences from every single other chronograph in existence.

White hands on a white dial?
Honestly, with everything wrong with this one, I didn't even GET to that mentally 😁

Me neither! Probably for legibility in snow storms. ::facepalm1::

Study up OP. But you DID ask before buying ( I think?)
Many don’t.
Lots to learn here
