Opinion on possible fake vintage dial

Hello everyone ! I came across this cal 268 allegedly from 1960 and I'm a bit cautious about the dial. The numerals and all the other parts look to me... like plastic. I'm a beginner so I may be wrong but doesn't it look to fresh and shiny to be that old ?

Thanks a lot for your opinion !

Minute marks are sloppy.

I believe that your feeling that indices looks like plastic is because somebody polished them. Either to get rid of patina or to get rid of excessive paint (from repainting process). I hate this 🙁

It's not fake, its been repainted. That is what they mean by redial. It is quite an attractive tidy job, just not original. Note how there are empty lume wells at the end of the indices. Oh and I think the hands have been replaced also. In short its pretty but junk.

Yes, what does that mean ? It has been excessively polished ?

No it means those dial indices (hour sticks) probably originally had Radium lume in the notch at the outer end which has been removed during the redial process. The hands likely also had lume but they have been changed for new parts. In short, superficially it is a nice looking watch, but look deeper and it has been comprehensively ruined.

Those are the hollow spots at the ends of the indices, originally they would have held lume but are empty now. It has nothing to do with the indices being polished but it is more evidence of a redial.

if you buy this watch you can find a correct original dial for reasonable price and put together a fun project for little bucks

That depends on the sale price, no?
