OMEGA4Face2.jpg

this is what the Seller has to say....😵‍💫

"Swiss made manual wind movement in excellent working condition. Signed Omega 15 jewels caliber #30T2 PC Serial #10421751 from Ca 1944. Case 20 microns gold plated mod #2180/2. Refinished dial. Plastic crystal. New leather band (not original).

It's a gorgeous watch. However, we've noticed a flaw. Whomever did the redial, made a little error at the 8 o'clock position. The lettering there is for 7 (VII) instead of 8 (VIII). Honestly, it was a customer that pointed that out to us. Three of us had missed it here! Frankly, I think it's probably for the same reason that the error occurred in the first place. Because of the second hand dial being in the 6/7 o'clock area, your brain wants to think the 8 spot is actually the 7 spot. Doing a redial is basically creating a work of art and there are few people that can do it well. We've spoken with our guys and they don't believe they can redial this watch satisfactorily due to the age and two toned nature of the dial. So, this watch will continue to live with this little error. It's still a gorgeous watch, now with a nice vintage quirk. If you never really look at those markings and just know where the 7 and 8 are, this is the watch for you!

Yea, well I've actually considered buying some pieces of shit on the assumption that they'd melt + sell the movement for more than the sale price, but in this case that seems rather unlikely.

That was my grandmother's favorite line. 😜

Wanna know something funny about these watches? Last year I considered buying one of the modern dials for this from Watchco and putting it on something like that. Went so far as to ask gator if it would fit. Tell me a champagne colored perfect dial wouldn't look totally cool on that!

..... and it would even have VIII at 8 o'clock too! 😁

I know the ones you mean, I like the brushed silver, matte silver two-tone ones myself, they look pretty amazing.

I love these summersault explanations. "It has a fault, but none of us noticed. That's how unimportant it is. Now let me talk about that for the better part of this advert, so as to not make too much a deal of it, not."
