All, I just wanted to give you an update on this.

Omega decided to change the bracelet after months of pressuring from my AD. I am very happy with this result, but I have still yet to receive my watch back (the bracelet is on order). I will update when it is back in my possession.

All,

I finally received the watch and am so happy to have it back on my wrist!

While the bracelet was being sized, I was able to look over some of the paperwork from Omega and was able to piece together a loose timeline. I turned the watch in around mid July and by early September it seems like this watch went to Omega for inspection. The tech noted that the watch had signs of use, and then it was sent back to my AD as they fought with the area rep until around Thanksgiving.

Omega ended up agreeing to swapping the bracelets and they took back the original for investigative purposes. It took five months to get back, but I’m a happy camper.

Attached is the fresh bracelet and wrist shot! Thanks for the input throughout this ordeal!

Yes, and this is the reason why stainless steel and mild steel are stored strictly separately in material warehouses. Both material should never get in contact with each other, in particular in humid atmosphere.

The petrolheads like to use stainless steel bolts. Bad idea, because the stainless steel bolts will seize solid in steel threads ...

Yeah using stainless bolts in steel can do that, but the problem can to a degree be lessened by using the correct grade of antisieze….. I consider a bigger and much more serious problem is when stainless bolts are used the replace high tensile steel bolts in critical assemblies stainless just isn’t as strong as high tensile steel.
