·Well I shouldn’t say it was his junk. My father was a collector of all sorts his whole life, and recently I inherited a bunch of his random stuff. In a cigar box labelled any item 5$ this case was mixed amongst other little items. It obviously caught my
Attention once I opened it, leading to hours spent trying to learn exactly what I had found and what else about it. I still am keeping my hope that the watch itself is somewhere in these things, but regardless I am happy to have found this before it disappeared at a garage sale to a random kid.
I’ve garnered from research and others assistance that obviously this was all part of an originally purchased 2767, made in 1954 based on serial number 14xxxxxx. Also I am somewhat confident that the hang tag also describes it being a Center seconds (SC), and a stainless case (CK), with a rotor automatic 28.1 or 28.10 movement, calibre 351 or 354? Not sure why 2 options. Then I don’t know what the AP is representing, maybe dial type? Anyways, very cool to me to find this stuff out.
The strap obviously never been worn or installed so I’m assuming he upgraded to another band when purchasing it, so this whole package has sat closed up until now from the day of purchase.
Obviously without the matching watch to the tags serial number, it’s not a huge discovery, but what I wonder is would buying a watch matching the rest of the tags details, and combining it with this package, make it desirably attractive at a price that makes that worth while? Or else sell the items together, or part them out?
Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated !
