A friend of mine has an Omega Speedmaster(?) for 15 years and she thinking to sell it. I didn't manage to find the specific model (except the Reference 3506.31.00 which is near). Any ideas if this is a real Omega and how much is worth?

Sorry it appears to be a fake.

there are multiple tells... the most obvious is that caseback is only found on speedmaster professionals. Which do not have a date function, nor are chronometer rated.

the dial is also wrong and appears to be a hybrid of a Limited Edition and a Speedmaster date produced much earlier.

finish and details of the watch are also not up to standard.

this is not a prototype either.

Fake and a very bad fake at that. The Chrono positions are a constant tell on fake Speedmasters.

That’s one of the great things about a Speedy.. there’s not really a way to fake them outright.

I didn't like the bezel and that I didn't manage to find an identical watch except for the M. Schumacher. Anyway, thank you guys for your help.I appreciate it.

So much for another "back-door" sales post ::rimshot::
Yeah because in Sales 101 they teach you to undermine your product by asking if it's real or not!! Bravo Sherlock!

Now that you know, will you crush it and throw it away?

(That's the price of knowledge.)

WTF is wrong with you guys? Isn't this thread for asking advice and helping people?
Why are you being so aggressive and disrespectful? This watch was bought by the father of my friend 15 years ago for about 300 euros. Yeah someone sold it for a real one. Then he gave it to his daughter. When my friend mentioned that she had an Omega Speedmaster I told her that if it's real it will worth 2k+ and I asked for your advice. What is so hard to believe?

It's always nice to have new members on the forum, especially when they have special abilities like you have.
Can you let this mere mortal know how you know how old this fake is please.

Dear All

How would you like to be welcomed to this forum?

Not in the way I read above.

@blackm13 Please dont judge the vast majority of the forum members by some of the responses here.

Your watch is an obvious fake to an experienced collector, but most people will be fooled and asking here is a natural thing to do. While there have been instances of people trying to circumnavigate the sales rules, anyone can see that this is not the case here, and the kind thing to do would be to give the facts.

So welcome to the forum. buy an Omega and join in one day!

You are absolutely right. I apologize for being flippant and disrespectful. This doesn't represent the majority of helpful members. I hope you give the forum another chance.

Welcome. Sucks that it's fake. Ask and search all you want. That's what a DISCUSSION forum is about. Enjoy and see you around.

Hey, with as many Speedy references as there are, I don't blame you for asking. If you don't know, you don't know. Glad you found out the truth this way, even if it was no fun. I can promise the roasting would have been more severe, if a bit more anonymous, had you posted this directly for sale on the 'bay.

You might even have found yourself on another thread, though it is not one to be proud of:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/don...omegas-post-them-here-not-for-questions.6235/

So, again, thanks for asking. 👍
