Dear members, I got this beautiful omega in 1984.... anybody can help me understand: model..year.. etc, etc. ? Cheers to all. andrea f.
Speedmaster101 will be your friend. Others will come along to be more helpful. https://speedmaster101.com/2998-3/ https://speedmaster101.com/2915-2/ I'm sure we'd appreciate some more pictures of all sides of the watch, maybe a story behind you getting the watch, and what inspired you to learn more about it right now? Looks like a nice watch...
Thank you..... I will upload more and better pictures tomorrow.... I love "dated" chronograph ..I own few speedmasters and a Rolex 6239 ..all in perfect conditions (luckily) Cheers. a.f.
I may change my mind with more pictures, but for right now....Holy Crap!! looks like 2998-2 or 3, ca. 1961-2
Bad photo, but has it been re-lumed.The colour looks funny and the hands match perfectly with the dial. Please post clearer photos.
Dear OP, I've got the feeling that you know what you have there. If you want anybody here to confirm it, you'll have to post some pictures that do not only focus the strap and the table cloth.
This is probably not the ideal attitude for getting honest and candid feedback, if that's what you are truly interested in. Some of the foremost Speedmaster experts in the world will look at the photos you post here, and they know what they are looking at. It is better to provide what information you can, and then keep an open mind about the comments, encouraging people to contribute instead of becoming defensive.
Seems fishy. OP claims he knows nothing and is looking for advice, yet collects other perfect speedys and knows a 6239 by the reference number, has it on a what looks like a NASAish Velcro strap, knows what reluming is immediately, and there’s a well known Andrea F. who is an Italian watch dealer and owns many a perfect straight lug speedy. Maybe he’s trolling OF?
